It might differ from Doctor to Doctor on what each of them are happy with, but I know that my own family planning clinic will insert the implant at any time in my cycle as long as I have had an up-to-date pregnancy test performed at the same time, which is really no bother at all since getting the implant fitting is so quick anyway.
